I’m Shema Vallejo, a book designer specializing in self-publishing. My work is built on one firm belief: there should be no visible difference between a self-published book and one from a major publisher.

The self-published stigma doesn’t come from the writing; it comes from the design. An amateurish cover, a badly formatted interior, the wrong typography. That’s what gives a book away before anyone reads a single page.

From the start, I knew that even though it was a self-published novel, I wanted a truly professional publishing finish. I didn’t want a generic layout or a basic cover. I wanted the book to have its own personality and to be carefully crafted down to the last detail.

What if I’m not happy with the final result?

The process is designed to make sure that doesn’t happen: we start with a strategy session so I understand your book and your vision, and every phase moves forward only with your approval. If something still doesn’t feel right, we’ll work on it. I won’t deliver a project that we’re not both happy with.

How many revisions are included?

The package includes 3 rounds of revisions for the cover, interior, and promotional images. In each round, we review the work together and make any adjustments needed. My goal is a final design that does justice to your book, so we’ll keep going until we get it right.

Why not go with a cheaper option?

You can. There are budget designers who deliver files that technically work. The difference is that a budget designer hasn’t studied thousands of Amazon covers to know what catches the eye in your genre, doesn’t know what it’s like to read a badly formatted interior, and hasn’t published books of their own. This package isn’t just design; it’s editorial judgment applied to your book.

Does my manuscript need to be finished before I sign up?

Yes. The design process starts with the final text. If your manuscript is still being revised, let’s talk: I can hold your spot until you’re ready.

How long does the entire process take?

It depends on the length of your book and how the revisions go, but the whole process usually takes 3 to 6 weeks from the initial strategy session.

Are the final files compatible with Amazon KDP?

Yes. Every file is tested and built to Amazon KDP’s exact specifications, for both the ebook and the print edition.

Can I order just the cover or just the formatting?

This is an all-in-one package because a consistent cover and interior are part of the final result. If you only need one of the two, I offer separate services: cover design and book formatting.

What if I need something extra, like more mockups?

No problem. You can add extra mockups, more A+ banners, or other launch materials at any point during the project. Just tell me what you need and I’ll send you a quote.

How does payment work?

Payment is split in two: 50% to reserve your spot and the remaining 50% on final delivery, by bank transfer. All prices include VAT.

Do you work with authors outside Spain?

Yes. I work with authors from all over the world. The whole process is managed remotely via Google Drive.
