I worked with Shema on the “Obra Cadabra” plan (now the Complete Self-Publishing Package) to publish my first novel, La noche del eclipse, and it was a great experience.

2. We talk

In our first conversation, you’ll tell me what your book is about and which format you have in mind (ebook, print, or both). We’ll go over the genre, the length of the manuscript, and the style you want to convey. With that, I’ll analyze your project so we start on a solid foundation.

3. Research

I research your genre and look at how similar books are laid out to understand what works in your market. I study typographic references, margins, and industry-standard structures. From there, I decide which elements to focus on to give your book a comfortable, professional read.

4. Proposal

I’ll put together an initial proposal based on your manuscript’s structure, working on typography, margins, and visual hierarchy to define the style of your interior. This first version shows us whether we’re on the right track, and your feedback helps me keep refining the design.

5. Full formatting

Once the concept is approved, I format the entire book. I work on chapters, headings, page numbers, and visual hierarchy so everything fits the essence of your work. During this phase, I test variations, fine-tune details, and make sure the design works just as well in digital as in print.

6. Revisions
